Starter is $20 a month or $200 a year, with 100 messages a month and no web search or file uploads. Max, the plan we recommend, is $30 a month or $300 a year, with 400 messages a month and everything else. New members get 10% off the first 3 months of either monthly plan: Starter is $18, then $20; Max is $27, then $30. Cancel online any time.
It still works. College Captain plans against the quarters you have left, not the ones behind you, and it’s honest about which gaps are no longer worth chasing.
Until their teen turns 18, a linked parent sees the Positioning Score, this quarter’s progress, how much the chat is used, and billing, and can pause the chat. Never the conversations, and never check-in answers. Nothing is charged when a parent links or consents. A parent can set College Captain up for their teen in a few minutes.
No. Cap helps you brainstorm, asks the questions that find your story and gives feedback on structure, but it won’t write passages you’d hand in as your own. The words stay yours.
Yes, from 13. At 16 or 17 you agree to the terms yourself, and adding a parent is optional. Under 16, a parent or guardian confirms your account before your 7-day free trial can start, and in Louisiana that applies until 18. You see your plan as soon as you sign up; the rest opens once they’ve confirmed and your trial has started. An account still unconfirmed after 90 days is closed and its data deleted, never without an email at least a week ahead.
Cancel during the free trial and nothing is charged. Cancel later and you keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Cancelling deletes nothing: your roadmap progress, score history and chats stay as they were, and coming back picks up where you left off.
