College Captain is an AI guidance counselor for high school students. It maps what each year and each quarter is for, and works through it with them. You see their progress — never their conversations.
How it starts
Your student signs up
They need to be 13 or older. Send them collegecaptain.com/signup. It takes about ten minutes to build their first plan.
They add you
From their Settings, by email or with a link they text you. You confirm on your own device. Under 16 — or under 18 in Louisiana — your consent is required; at 16 and 17 it's their choice. Already using it? Ask to be linked — they decide.
You start the free trial
A separate step from consent, on your own phone or computer. 7 days free, then $25 a month or $200 a year. Cancel online any time — during the trial, nothing is charged.
What you see
- Their Positioning Score, week by week
- Their progress this quarter, and their plan
- A short email once a month, if you want it
- A switch to pause the AI chat
What you don't
Their conversations with the counselor, and their check-in answers. Students tell a counselor things they might not want read back to them, and that boundary is deliberate. It is the same for every parent, and it cannot be switched off.
